NEW YORK (AP) ? Will Serena Williams dance at the U.S. Open? The Olympic singles champion isn't sure.
Williams caused a stir with her celebratory "crip walk" dance when she beat Maria Sharapova at the Olympics this month, but has nothing planned if she wins next month's Open. She says the first dance was impromptu. She adds: "I have to win seven matches, so we'll see."
The Wimbledon champ joined fellow tennis players Victoria Azarenka, the Bryan Brothers and James Blake at Thursday's annual Taste of Tennis, where top chefs provide culinary delights in an event for charity. Blake brought his infant daughter, who was cradled by Williams.
Williams says she's still on an Olympics high. She says she and sister Venus plan to be in Rio de Janeiro for the next Summer Games.

South Korean court rules Apple infringed on two Samsung patents, fines it $35k; Samsung gets hit too
We have yet another twist in the worldwide patent battle between electronics giants Apple and Samsung, as the Wall Street Journal and Reuters report a Seoul court has ruled in favor of the latter when it came to two patents in a case on its home turf. While it decided that Apple had infringed on two Samsung patents, it also found that Samsung had returned the favor on Apple's "bounceback" design patent, but not on another regarding icon design resulting in damages of about $22,000 Samsung. That's according to WSJ's Evan Ramstad, who also reports that other than the light financial slap on the wrist, the ruling means that the infringing products can no longer be sold in South Korea. The list of affected hardware includes mostly previous gen products like the iPhone 4 and iPad 2, as well as the Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy S II and Galaxy Nexus. Asia Economic indicates the two patents Apple was found to have infringed are of the much-disputed standards-essential type relating to the transmission of data.

CANADA: Big Rock's H1 profits boosted by "value" sector growth

Big Rock Brewery has reported a sharp rise in first-half profits boosted by volume growth in the "value" segment and a drop in business costs.?
Net profits soared by 202% to CAD1.79m (US$1.79m) in the six months to the end of June, the Calgary-based craft brewer said on Friday (3 August). Sales in the period rose by 6.6% to CAD22.54m.?
Operating profits also saw a sharp rise, increasing 211% on last year's first-half to CAD2.39m. Volumes were up 6.5% to 109.2m hectolitres.?
Q2 saw a similarly impressive performance, with operating profits up 198% to CAD2.3m. However, volumes only marginally increased, rising by 1.9% to 61m hectolitres.
The company said the rise in sales compared to volumes was due to price rises across most regions and products, which took effect in the latter part of Q1 and early Q2.
"Higher sales volumes, predominantly in the value-priced segment, fuelled by growth in retail channels," also added to sales growth, the group said.
However,?Big Rock said it saw its premium-priced signature brands perform well, but core brands saw volumes dip in Q2.
Looking ahead, the brewer said: "Contrary to stagnant or declining trends across the domestic beer industry, Big Rock has been able to increase its 2012 volumes compared to 2011 and management expects consumer demand for its products to remain positive throughout the remainder of the year."?
It added that management will "continue to monitor and adjust the selling prices of its products".?

Most of us would just as soon avoid airports, with their long lines and testy patrons. But Betty Sussman thrives there. She is one of approximately 90 volunteers who work a four-hour shift each week at the Palm Beach International Airport, greeting visitors as ?airport ambassadors.? Sussman (who turns 81 this month) is not your typical South Floridian. She is still employed; four days a week she works as an office manager for an ophthalmologist. For her, being an airport ambassador eases some of the loneliness she experiences during the weekend?time she used to spend with her husband before he died six years ago. Plus there are perks: She makes good use of the meal voucher she earns each shift, redeemable at any of the airport?s concessions.

UK MARKET LEADER FORD BUILDS CAR SALES AND SHARE THROUGH 2012
BRENTWOOD, Essex, 6th August, 2012 ? Ford continues to build on its UK market lead through 2012 with increased car sales and share to the end of July, compared with the same period in 2011.
Ford car sales were up in July and sales for the year to date (end July) have increased by 3.8 per cent, compared with 2011.? The UK car market as a whole was also up 3.5 per cent for the year to date, according to the official figures released today from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT):

- Ford car and commercial vehicle (CV) sales both up in July
- Ford medium CVs increase segment share in July and for the year to date
The official figures released by the SMMT show that total car sales in July were up 9.3 per cent to 143,884 units, compared with July 2011. Ford car sales of 18,527 were up 1.6 per cent, from 18,245 in July 2011.? For the year to date (end July) total UK car sales were 1,201,564 up, 3.5 per cent compared with 2011, while Ford car sales for this period in 2012 were 168,905, up 3.8 per cent compared with 2011.
Ford?s strong car sales performance is headed by the Ford Fiesta, which was again the best seller for the month as well as for the year to date.? Ford Fiesta sales for the year to date have increased from 58,338 to 67,103, compared with the same period in 2011, and its car market share is up from 5.1 to 5.6 per cent.
Ford?s car sales were up across its range in July and, as well as the Fiesta, Ford Ka, Ford C-MAX, Ford Kuga, Ford Mondeo, Ford S-MAX and the Ford Galaxy all recorded sales increases in July, compared with July 2011.
Mark Ovenden, Ford of Britain managing director, said:? ?Despite fierce competition Ford?s UK market lead remains solid with car and commercial sales increasing in July.
?Propelling the increase in car share through 2012 has been a cascade of new and technologically exciting Ford products, including the award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine in Focus, which is accounting for 30 per cent of that model?s registrations, while the new Focus ST and B-MAX are poised for customer deliveries during the important September sales month.? Also on its way is the much acclaimed new Ford Transit and Tourneo and there is still more Ford product news to come.?
Ford?s total CV sales were up in July, increasing from 5,436 in July 2011 to 5,806 this year.? Ford medium commercials, headed by the industry-leading Ford Transit, have accounted for 31.6 per cent of sales in that segment for the year to date, up from 28.3 per cent in 2011.? In July, Ford medium commercials accounted for 34.6 per cent of sales in the segment, up from 31.1 per cent in July 2011.
Ford Transit?s position as the UK?s best-selling commercial vehicle remains unchallenged: Transit holds 17.6 per cent of the CV market for the year to date compared with 5.6 per cent for its nearest challenger.? In July, Transit accounted for 18.7 per cent of the total CV market.
